Lillian "Lil" Bernadette (Arcand) Hildebrand

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian “Lil” Hildebrand.  She went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family in Kelowna, BC at the age of 65 years.

   Lil was born in Marcelin, SK on July 3, 1950 to proud parents Flora and Alfred Arcand.  Along with her siblings, she was raised to be a kind, caring individual.  She blossomed into a lovely young lady who captured the heart of Ken Hildebrand.  On July 3, 1973, the happy couple married and they went on to raise a beautiful family and make wonderful memories together.

   Lil enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, crafting, gardening and camping, but above all else, she treasured time spent with her family; especially her grandchildren.  She was never happier than when she was with them.  Lil was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend.  She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

   Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her husband, Ken Hildebrand of Coleman, AB; her son, Lee (Tracy Walters) Hildebrand of Fort McMurray, AB; her daughter, Lori (Ryan) Kronyk of Kelowna, BC; her daughter of the heart, Val Arcand; her grandchildren, Brandon, Trenton, Callista, Bailey and Noah; her brother, Ray (Mary) Primeau of Kelowna, BC; her sisters, Sylvia (George) Morin of Saskatchewan, Helen (Bob) Christian of Pincher Creek, AB, Blanche (Tom) Cunningham of Grande Cache, AB and Marlene Arcand of Lethbridge, AB; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family as well as  the many friends she made throughout her life.

   She was predeceased by her parents, Flora and Alfred Arcand; her sons, Shane Hildebrand and Henry Hildebrand; her brother, Edward Arcand; her sister, Rose Joanette; and her nephews, Todd Stennit, Tony Moody and Mark Arcand.

   A Memorial Service honouring her life will be held at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel in Blairmore, AB on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 1:00pm with Pastor Al Robinson officiating.  Donations in memory of Lil will be gratefully accepted by the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca or 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
