Kelvin “Spanky” Caswell

(1959-2016)

    It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kelvin Thomas Caswell (also known as Spanky) of Coleman, Alberta who was called to be with the Lord on January 16, 2016 at the age of 56 years.

    Kelvin was born on June 15, 1959 in Hillcrest, Alberta to proud parents, Kenneth and Helen Caswell.

      He was raised to be a nice young man and enjoyed his life to the fullest. He loved being outdoors camping, fishing, snowmobiling and did a lot of walking and cycling.

       Kelvin was a very likeable person and made friends very easily - one could say that he was quite the social butterfly.  Being the good person that Kelvin was, he was always willing to help out a friend.

        Kelvin worked at various jobs up until his early 50’s when his health took a turn for the worse.  He encountered many trials and tribulations over the last 5 years but somehow managed to smile through it all.

         Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include his sisters, Teresa Caswell of Blairmore, AB and Gloria Rutherford of Crofton, BC; his niece, Elneth (Adam) Rutherford of Edmonton, AB; his grandnephew, Sean and grandniece Isabelle of Edmonton, AB; and his extended family and the many loyal friends he made throughout his lifetime.

         Kelvin was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Caswell in 1963; his stepfather, Arthur Grando in 1992; his mother, Helen Caswell (nee: Hvizdos) in 2013 and his brother-in-law, Terry Rutherford in 2015.       

         The Memorial Service will be held in June and announced at a later date.  Donations in memory of Kelvin will be gratefully accepted by the Heart & Stroke Foundation (207, 542-7 Street S.
