With incredible sadness we announce the passing of Wanda Kim Thompson of Coleman, AB on September 30, 2026. She was 56 years of age.
Wanda was well-known for having a big heart, a welcoming smile, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand or stop for a chat. She touched many lives with her kindness and genuine care for the people around her.
Wanda could often be found volunteering at the Coleman Legion, where she also occasionally helped her partner, Robert, with repairs. Although sometimes more hinderance than help, she was always by his side and there for him whenever he needed her. Wanda took great pride in being called “mom” by her daughters’ friends, a name that reflected the warmth and nurturing spirit she shared with so many.
Wanda loved being outdoors—camping, going for walks, taking photographs of wildlife, and collecting unique rocks. She never passed up an adventure, big or small, or going for a drive with Robert, especially in “Big Red.” An avid animal lover, Wanda adored them all, even when the affection resulted in an allergic reaction. She had a special fondness for tigers and unicorns – having extensive collections of both. Above all else, Wanda cherished her family and friends. They meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent together. Her kindness and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Left to mourn her loss and celebrate he life is her partner, Robert Campbell; her parents, Pat and Jerry Thompson; her daughter, Mandy Thompson; her stepchildren, Jody Campbell (Mac) and Ryan Campbell (Taylor); her grandchildren, Brittney (Brad), Ember, Caine and Ryder; her great-grandson, Walyon; her sister, Dana (Jeff) Phillips; her nieces, Jaymi and children, Karson, McKenzie and Jack, and Courtnay (Scott); the whole Campbell Clan; her extended family and countless friends.
