It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yvette Lorrene LaPlante of Blairmore, Alberta who was called home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2013 at the age of 47 years while receiving care at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.
Yvette was born on March 23, 1966 in Calgary, Alberta to proud parents, Wilfred Earl LaPlante and Pauline LaPlante (nee: Bunnie). Along with her brothers and sisters, she was raised to appreciate the love of family, the comfort of friends and to never take life’s blessings for granted. Her strength and resolve to overcome the hardships and challenges in her life made her an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was proud of her children and loved them unconditionally. Yvette was truly a special and wonderful lady whom we shall never forget and fondly remember.
Those left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life include her loving children, Mitchell LaPlante and Joshua (Jessica) Myers; her precious grandchildren, Dominic, Jessie James and Jasmine; her brothers, Clifford (Bonnie) LaPlante, Darrell LaPlante and Calvin (Cowachin) LaPlante; her sisters, Linda (Roger Harris) Torgerson, Shirlene (Douglas) Kovatch and Wendy (Alvin) Ryan; as well as her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, James “Jim” Ronald Myers; her parents, Wilfred & Pauline; and her sister, Rachelle Armstrong.
The Memorial Service honouring Yvette’s life was held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 am at Fantin's Funeral Chapel in Blairmore, Alberta with Donny Coulter officiating. Tributes were provided by the family. Cremation occurred at Fantin's Funeral Chapel’s private crematorium.
