It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing on November 23, 2014 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre of our father, William Loucks of Coleman, Alberta. He celebrated 79 years of life.
Bill was born Charles Gillbard Loucks on March 18, 1935 in Lutterworth, Ontario to parents Leslie & Eva Loucks. He was raised with a respect for family and to work with integrity and diligence.
Bill grew to be a handsome young man “with a girlfriend in every town” so he claimed, but in truth, there was only one special lady that won his heart, Linda Maxine Dillabough, and on January 19, 1974 they were wed in holy matrimony. They were blessed with a family whom they cherished spending time with.
Bill loved tinkering on cars and his talent led him to his career as a used car provider. He was highly regarded and respected for his kindness with those families financially challenged. He also had a passion for fishing, decorating his home for Christmas, camping and playing bingo with his beloved Linda and a smoking a fine cigarette. His generous nature and amazing sense of humour were admired by his friends and family. He will be greatly missed and dearly remembered.
Bill leaves to mourn his devoted family: his children, Margaret Burley of Ontario, Sandy (Kim) Rankin of Saskatchewan, Sandra (Jay Weaver) Loucks of Calgary, Lisa (Dave) Simmons of Calgary and Barbara Essibari of Lethbridge; his grandchildren, Wayne (Deanna) Whitlock, Frances (Brodie) Hovan, Stephanie (Travis Panisiak) Milley, Kimberley Brazzoni, Jeremy Loucks and Destiny Brazzoni; his great grandchildren, Marshall Hovan and Nolan Whitlock; his sister, Eleanor (Bruce) Reid of Ontario; and his extended family as well as the many friends he made throughout his lifetime, especially Max & Teresa McLain. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda Loucks; his children, Randy and Louise Loucks; his parents, Les and Eva Loucks; and his brothers, Jack and Sydney Loucks.
A Memorial Service honouring both Bill and Linda’s lives was held at Fantin's Funeral Chapel in Blairmore, AB (13461-20th Ave) on November 29, 2014 at 1:00 pm, 2014 with Rev. Nicky Keyworth officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
