It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Rossi of Hillcrest, AB on December 16, 2017 at the age of 72 years.
Wendy was born in Calgary, AB on August 20, 1945. She was raised to work hard and to treat others as you would like to have them treat you – lessons she lived by her entire life. In 1956, Wendy relocated to the Crowsnest Pass where she met and fell in love with Daniel Rossi. The couple married on March 2, 1973 and went on to be blessed with two wonderful sons, Layne and Daniel Jr.. In addition to taking care of her home and family, Wendy had a busy career life. She was employed at Phillips Cables from 1970 to 1974, was Secretary/Treasurer of the Hillcrest Credit Union from 1979 to 1998, was the PCA Supervisor for the Blairmore Health Unit from 1998 to 2002, and was a Supervisor at Mountain View Industries from 2002 until her well-earned retirement in 2006.
When Wendy had time to herself, she enjoyed reading, solving Sudoku puzzles, crocheting and geocaching. Her greatest joy, however, came from her family. Wendy said it best herself - “My world is my family.” She was a guiding light for all of them through every moment of their lives – achievements and struggles alike. Her kindness and unconditional love will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her beloved husband, Daniel Rossi of Hillcrest, AB; her devoted sons, Layne (Katrise) Rossi of Campbell River, BC and Daniel Jr. (Stephanie) Rossi of Winnipeg, MB; her treasured granddaughter, Kalayna; her brothers, Walter (Pat) Buckley, Thomas (Blanche) Cunningham, Gordon Cunningham, Ray Cunningham and Brent Cunningham; her sisters, Maxine (Rolf) Twele, Susan (Keith) Sprlak, Colleen Yeliga, Shannon Cunningham and Roxanne Cunningham Getta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as countless friends – especially Andrea, Jack and Sharon.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gladys M. and Thomas Cunningham, both in 1993; her infant sister, Sharon Lorraine Cunningham in 1965; and her biological father, Walter Buckley.
