It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Steve Spearman of Bellevue, Alberta who tragically lost his life in a car accident in Sparwood, British Columbia, on December 7, 2015. He was 41 years of age.
Steven Douglas Spearman was born on October 16, 1974 in Calgary to proud parents, Carol and Stan Spearman of Strathmore, Alberta. Steve’s childhood was full of fun and adventure; he carried on that same spirit throughout his entire life. He loved exploring the mountainous backcountry quading, camping and golfing with his buddy Jeff Krippl but especially fishing with his wife Angela. Steve was always a hard worker and loved woodworking and tackling home renovations.
He had a keen interest in astronomy and was a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. He was also fully “YouTube Certified”. Steve enjoyed spending time with his dogs Duffy and Gemma and most of all with the love of his life Angela. Steve lived his life to the fullest and was taken from us way too soon, we will always hold him dearly in our hearts – may he rest in peace.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Angela Spearman of Bellevue, AB; his parents, Carol and Stan Spearman of Strathmore, Alberta; his sister, Patricia and her husband, Rob Lehmann; his father in-law, John Harder; his mother in-law, Rose Harder; his brothers in-law, Rob (Kari Allardice), Joey (Realyn Pena) Harder, Jason (Patricia Lindquist) Harder and Eric (Lisa) Harder; his sister in-law, Samantha (Alex Smith) Harder; his nieces, Cheyenne, Danielle, Hailly, Charli, Julie, Alyshia, Kalysta and Amelia; his nephews, Devon, Korbyn and Josh; and his extended family and the numerous friends he made throughout his lifetime.
He was predeceased by his precious infant twins, Oliver and Megan Spearman born and deceased on December 24, 2008; his grandparents, Stan & Dolly Spearman of Thunder Bay, Ontario and Hebert & Margaret McCuskey of Solon Springs, Wisconsin; his cousin Kevin Swanberg of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; his beloved canine companions, Molly and Benny.
A Funeral Service honouring Steve’s memory will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Fantin's Funeral Chapel in Blairmore. Rev. Dr. A. Christopher Smith and Rev. Heather Smith officiating. Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Prince of Faith Lutheran Church in Calgary (2523-56 St N.E.) with Pastor Scott Pederson officiating.
