(Robert) Stanley Humphrey
July 29, 1928 - May 22, 2014
It is with heavy hearts that we have witnessed the passing of our dear father, grandfather, companion & friend, Stan Humphrey.
Stan was born in Drumheller in 1928 & grew up on the family farm near Delia, Alberta. A child of the depression, Stan was ever resourceful & inventive, creating "silk purses from sows ears" in the most extraordinary fashion.
His careers were many including farming, the oil fields, mechanics, sales, the restaurant industry & carpentry. In all sectors he showed mastery & the love of perfection.
His wit, strength & tenacity, through the worst of times, will be ever remembered & admired by those of us who loved him & whom he loved.
He now joins his loving son Clinton, parents Mary Catherine & William Henry Harry, sisters Esther & Edna & brothers Tom, Art & Harry.
Left to await our reunion are his children Lloyd (Bunny) Humphrey of Longview, Sheila (Bob) Sander of Longview, Blaine (Elsie) Humphrey of Didsbury, Robbi (Todd) Donkin of Blairmore, sisters Leora Thompson & Lillian Rideout of Red Deer & brothers George (Elsie) Humphrey & Leroy Humphrey of Innisfail & area.
He was a doting, loving & cherished Papa to Max, Jade, Miranda, Tammy, Christie, Brad & his little Delia, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
He will be so sadly missed by his loving friend & companion Joanne Venier, as well as by her children & grandchildren, Phillip, Brenda, Shanda & Matt.
A family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crowsnest Pass Hospital, Boys & Girls Club Crowsnest Pass or the Jack Ady Cancer Clinic in Lethbridge.
