Minnie Phyllis Cerney

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Minnie Cerney of Frank, Alberta who was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 within the comforts of her home. She was blessed with 82 years of life.
Minnie was born on April 9, 1931 to Joe & Bronis Kiselczuk in Winnipeg, Manitoba. An ever inquisitive and intelligent child, she loved to read and explore the area. She blossomed into a lovely young lady who at the age of 22, married a dashing young man, Laddie Cerney on August 1, 1953, and they were further blessed with two devoted children.
Minnie had a great love for of all types of animals, especially her dogs, and she enjoyed watching and feeding the birds from her balcony. She was proud to be a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and volunteering her time to local community events. Her pastimes were gardening, playing cards with friends and helping with the suppers hosted at the Blairmore Legion.
Left to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life include her children, Tim (Julie) Cerney of Grand Forks, BC and Bernice (Kevin) Vare of Blairmore, AB; her grandchild, Cynthia Cerney of Oxbow, Saskachewan and her great grandchildren, Kassandra and Krystine Cerney; her twin sister, Mae Morgan of Edmonton; numerous nieces & nephews; as well as her loving extended family and the many friends she made throughout her lifetime.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joe & Bronis Kiselczuk; her loving husband, Laddie Cerney; and her brothers, Alex Kiselczuk and Stan Kiselczuk.
With respect for Minnie’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4K7).
