In loving memory
MARY GATTO
(1929-2013)
Mary Lillian Gatto (nee: Blondeau) of the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, was called to be with the Lord on February 3, 2013 while at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre at the age of 83 years.
Mary was born on July 16, 1929 in Joggins, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia to parents Jules & Georgina Blondeau. She was naturally kind and gentle with an amazing inner strength which allowed her to cope with her being hearing impaired. She moved to the Crowsnest Pass in 1947 and was employed as an Aid in the local hospital. She met a caring and courageous young man, Carino Giovanni Gatto, who also was hearing impaired. They fell deeply in love and were married in 1950. Mary enjoyed her new role as a homemaker, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was determined and an inspiration to her family and this community. Her talent for baking homemade treats, lavishing affection on her family and demonstrating faith and courage during difficult times will always be cherished and remembered - may angels lead her into heaven.
She is survived by her loving children, Bernie Jenkins and John (Karen) Gatto; her precious grandchildren, Caitlyn Jenkins, Christopher Jenkins, Grant (Danielle) Gatto and Garrett Gatto; her great grandchild, Kazden Gatto; and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Carino Gatto; her father, Jules Blondeau; and her mother, Georgina Blondeau (nee: Beardreau); her siblings, Alex, Joe, Emile, Amos, Georgina, Eileen and Elizabeth.
A Graveside Ceremony was conducted on February 7, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Bellevue Catholic Cemetery in the family section with Rev. Renso Castellarin officiating.
