It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie Janet Ouellet of Blairmore, Alberta, who passed away surrounded by her loving family in Lethbridge, AB on May 19, 2014 at the age of 61 years.
Marjorie was born on July 26,1952 in Toronto, Ontario to proud parents, Frank and Ruby Willey. One of 14 children, Marjorie was raised with a great appreciation for family and to be content with what she had rather than what she had not. She was a gracious young lady who was kind, gentle and caring.
Marjorie made a great impression on a dashing young man with a charming French accent from Quebec. Denis and Marjorie were married and blessed with three boys to fill their hearts and make their house a home.
Marjorie loved to spend time with her family - especially family bowling nights. She was a wonderful cook and loved baking her amazing homemade fudge for her family and friends to enjoy. She also loved to watch old Shirley Temple movies and Disney classics proving she was young at heart. She enjoyed the simple things in life especially watching television (but she did not enjoy interruptions during her favourite programs) and walking with her special canine friend, Sara. She was a devoted wife to Denis and cherished mother to Danny, Norm and Steve. Marjorie celebrated many triumphs in her life and suffered many challenges but her compassion and gentle nature will always be fondly remembered. May she be at peace in our Lord’s care for all eternity.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life include her loving husband, Denis Ouellet of Blairmore; her sons, Norm (Cheryl) Ouellet and Steve Ouellet; her grandchildren, Austin & Ethan Ouellet; her sister, Audrey Susan Ouellet; her brothers, Harold (Marianne) Willey, Patrick Willey, Terry Willey, Gregory Willey, Donny Willey and Micheal Willey; her nieces, Tammy (Ben) and Audrey (Scott); her nephew, Nelson (Christine) Ouellet; her great nephew, Garret; her dear friend, Susan Fraser; as well as the many friends that she made throughout her lifetime.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Ruby Willey; her precious son, Danny Ouellet; her brother-in-law Maurice Ouellet; her sisters, Theresa Willey and Ruby Strong; her brothers, Frankie Willey, Bobbie Willey, Freddie Willey and Goldie Willey.
The Visitation and Wake Service occurred on May 23, 2014 at Fantin's Funeral Chapel in Blairmore.
The Memorial Mass occurred on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Ben Marino as Celebrant and Deacon Renso Castellarin assisting. Interment occurred at the Blairmore Catholic Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be directed towards the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alberta Lung Association.
