It is with a heavy heart we announce that Marie Magdalana Ellis of Blairmore, Alberta has passed away on September 16, 2012 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre at the age of 91 years.
Marie was born on October 21, 1920 in River Bourgeais, Nova Scotia to Marcel and Roseann Bouchie. She was raised with a great appreciation for family, the rewards of hard work and to be compassionate to those in need. She found true love with kind and handsome young man, John Ellis, and they were married on June 5, 1976. They made a home for themselves in the Crowsnest Pass.
Marie provided for her family as a Nurse’s Aid in various hospitals and enjoyed cooking and caring for her devoted husband and children. She also found time for embroidery and conversations with friends. The passing of her husband, John, was a time of great sadness in her life but we take comfort knowing that they are once more in each others arms surrounded by the grace of God. She will be fondly remembered and forever loved.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Heather) Bird of Nanaimo, BC and Audrey Bird of Sechelt, BC; her precious grandchildren, Neil (Helena) Bird, John (Rose) Bronson, Tracey (Michael) Galla and Lana (Matt) McLean; her cherished great grandchildren, Patricia Bradshaw, Jennifer Bradshaw, Steven Galla, Cassandra Galla and Melissa Bronson; her very special great-great grandchildren, Aeris Lukinuk, Oliver McLean and Abigail McLean; her brother, Leo Bouchie of St. Peters, Cape Breton, NS; and her extended family and dear friends, especially Wilma DeLisle.
She was predeceased by her husband John Ellis and her parents Marcel Bouchie and Roseann Bouchie (nee: Forgeron).
No funeral services will be held. Donations in memory of the late Marie Ellis may be made to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance, Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8M7.
