Lyle McNab
(1931 – 2012)
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Lyle Edwin McNab of Blairmore, Alberta who was called to be with the Lord on December 13, 2012 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre at the age of 81 years.
Lyle was born on November 14, 1931 in South Gower Tsp, Ontario to proud parents, William and Essie McNab. As a young man, he was raised to appreciate what he had, work hard for what he needed and above all, demonstrate respect and compassion to all. His kind and gentle character caught the attention of a beautiful and graceful young lady, Lillian Gardinier. They were soon married on May 16, 1953 at St. John’s Church in Innisville, Ontario, and celebrated 55 years of marriage. Their love and devotion to one another was an inspiration to their family and friends.
Lyle and Lillian raised their four children – David, Donald, Allan, and Myrna and their many foster children. They resided in many communities such as City View, Chesterville, and Kemptville until 2000, until they decided to settle in Blairmore, Alberta to enjoy their golden years.
Lyle was employed for many years in the funeral industry aiding grieving families through challenging times. He was a generous and considerate man who provided all he could for his family. He taught by example and loved unconditionally. He donated much of his time as Church Warden of the Anglican Church in Blairmore and committed to helping those in need. He was also a member of the local curling club, Chesterville and Kemptville Eastern Ontario Square Dancing Association, very talented at woodworking and crafts and was a member of the Foster Parent’s Association.
Although Lyle is no longer with us, his family & friends will keep his memory close because of his faith & love of God and his wisdom of life.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include his sons, David (Carol) of Strathmore, Donald (Pacita) of Calgary, and Allan (Connie) of Gibbons, Alberta; his daughter Myrna (Emery) of Ottawa, Ontario; his grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Marvin, Anita, Alex (Sharisse), Samantha, Taylor, Stephen and Anna; his great grandchildren, Emmett Jasper and Talon Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, especially Leila & Bob Connell.
Lyle was predeceased by his loving wife Lillian in 2008; his brother Ivan in 1975; his sister Jean in 1944; and his nephew Lee in 2004.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Anglican United Church in Blairmore, Alberta with Reverend Nicky Keyworth officiating. The committal ceremony of entombment will occur at the Capital Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Manotick, Ontario.
