With sadness we announce the passing of Larry James Read on July 15, 2026. He was 82 years of age.
Larry was born on March 18, 1944, in Vancouver, BC, to parents, Jane and Verne Read. Throughout his life, Larry worked as an air traffic controller and later as a professional truck driver. He was well-known for his strong work ethic and dedication to whatever he set his mind to.
Larry had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, going for walks, and being an active member of his community and church. Larry will be remembered with love and respect. May good memories bring comfort and peace to all who knew him.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his children, Rebecca (Robert) Evans, Jonathan (Gidget) Read, Stephen (Shirley Smith) Read, and Elizabeth (Bernie) Klassen; his brother, Keith Read; and close family friend, Mark Pitcher. He was predeceased by is wife, Frances Read (Née: Putich); and his parents, Verne and Jane “Jean” Read.
