It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Kostas Michalsky-Sarabalos, who died in an accident while hiking in the Banff National Park on May 31, 2015. He was 28 years of age.
Kostas was born on May 4, 1987 in Blairmore, Alberta to proud parents Louie Sarabalos and Lita Michalsky. He was a young man who had an adventurous nature and zest for life. From an early age, Kostas had a keen interest in mathematics, physics and the applied sciences. He had a big, generous heart and he accepted everyone unconditionally as a friend. He loved to hike, learn of his Greek heritage, take pride in his work and spend precious moments with his friends and family. Kostas will be missed by all those who loved him and we shall keep that love alive until meet again.
He is survived by his beloved parents, Louie Sarabalos and Lita Michalsky of the Crowsnest Pass, AB; his cherished siblings, Sasha Lassey of the Crowsnest Pass, AB, Shanel Michalsky of Calgary, AB, and Karissa Hartley of Claresholm, AB;his nieces Aislyn & Kiera Wheelock and Bella Dodds; his nephews Tye Dodds and Preston Van Male; his girlfriend, Ashley Traynor of Edmonton, AB; and his canine buddy, Fergus; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family in Alberta, Ontario and Greece. He was predeceased by his God-Father, George Topas.
The Funeral Service was held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Crowsnest Consolidated High School (8901-20th Avenue, off of Highway #3) in Coleman, AB with Fr. Peter Rougas officiating.
