JOAN KUBIK
1939-2013
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Kubik (nee: Weber), beloved wife of William Kubik of Blairmore, who was called to be with the Lord on March 14, 2013 at the age of 73 years.
Joan was born on March 22, 1939 in Blairmore, Alberta to Frank and Sophie Weber. She was raised with a great appreciation for family, friends and life’s simple blessings. Joan grew to be a lovely and gentle young lady who captured the heart of a charming and devoted young man, William Kubik. They pledged their love in holy matrimony on September 28, 1957 and were further blessed with a loving family of their own.
Joan enjoyed her gardening, her walks throughout town, cooking special meals for family and friends, creating beautiful stained glass art and collecting antiques that she also refurbished; she could provide the amazing history of many of the antique pieces that made them even more special. Joan was a loving, kind and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her family takes comfort in the many warm memories of special occasions spent together and faith that Joan is at peace in the arms of the Lord.
She is survived by her husband, William Kubik; her children, Rod (Vicki) Kubik and Carolee (Rob) Ison; her grandchildren, Christopher Ison and Zane Kubik; numerous nieces and nephews and her extended family including Geordi and Carrie (Dave); as well as the many friends she made throughout her lifetime. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank & Sophie Weber.
Joan’s life will be honoured by her family at a private Memorial Service hosted by Fantin's Funeral Chapel at a later date. Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
