In loving memory
ADELIA “JEAN” GEORGE
(1925-2013)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adelia “Jean” George of Coleman, Alberta. Jean courageously battled M.S. but was called to be with the Lord on January 16, 2013 while at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta at the age of 87 years.
Jean was born on July 13, 1925 in Hillcrest, Alberta to parents Luisa and Dominic Sarchese. She had one brother, Rudy Sarchese, and they were raised with an appreciation for a good days work and gratitude for family and friends.
Jean met John George in Lethbridge, Alberta and their love for one another was pledged in holy matrimony on January 13, 1945 in Hillcrest. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage and three devoted children, Deanna, Beverly and Gary. She and John spent many enjoyable moments camping and Sunday picnics with family and friends. She settled in Coleman until her health required her to reside at the CNP Continuing Care Centre for the last twenty-four years.
Jean looked forward to her many family gatherings whether it was in the majestic mountainous areas or in the Care Centre. She loved her T.V. Soaps and Chinese food, baking bread, cooking, visiting with family and the acts of kindness that so many people offered her throughout her lifetime. She was a special mother, wife, grandmother and friend – she will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She is survived by her daughters, Deanna Vare, Beverly (Tony) Feregotto; her son, Gary George; her grandchildren, Collin Vare, Duane (Natasha) Vare, Terry George, Ashley (Travis) George; her great grandchildren, Jenna & Treamaine Smith; the Sarchese family; the Weasel Bear family; Vernon Vare; as well as the many friends she made throughout her lifetime.
She was predeceased by her husband, John George; her parents, Luisa & Dominic Sarchese; her brother, Rudy (Marsia) Sarchese; her in-laws, Eddy George, Roy George, Pete Chollack, Mary Chollack, Anne George, George Weasel Bear and Inez Sallans.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11:00 am in Fantin's Funeral Chapel in Blairmore, Alberta with Fr. Ben Marino officiating.
