It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Proc of Lethbridge, Alberta who succumbed to cancer on October 31, 2014 at St. Michael’s Care Centre at the age of 61 years.
Jim was born on February 19, 1953 in Coleman, Alberta to proud parents, Mike and Susan Proc. Along with his four siblings, Jim was raised with an appreciation for family, faith and a job well done. Throughout the early years, their home was humble and full of music, laughter and love. He enjoyed playing video golf with his younger brother, Ron, and helping in the kitchen for all of the family celebrations.
Jim graduated from high school and gained employment at Summit Lime Works as a rock crusher, Revelstoke in Coleman, Supreme Carpet Cleaning and finally settled on custodial duties at the Haig Clinic and Lacidem Building in Lethbridge for over twenty-seven years. He loved fishing with family and was always interested in their welfare. His greatest joy in life was his marriage to his beloved Marian – they celebrated thirty-seven years together. He had a remarkable sense of humour and wit and he brought great joy to all those he knew. Hard working hands are now laid to rest but his memory shall linger forever in the hearts and minds of his friends and family. May he be at peace awaiting the presence of our Lord.
Jim leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life his devoted wife, Marian Proc (nee: Chouinard) of Lethbridge, AB; his step-child, Rita Hill; his step-grandchildren, Etoile Matin Hill (Morning Bird), Misha Mizar Little Shields(Shaun Sands), Boaz Little Shields, Iscah Little Shields, Kinza Little Shields, Job Little Shields, Philemon Little Shields and Azriel Calahaison; his step great grandchild, Tenika Akau; his sister, Margaret (Grant) Proknow of Blairmore, AB; his brother, Ronald Proc of Lethbridge, AB; his nieces, Tracy Procknow, Keli (Jon) Saucier and Kim (Geoff) Sawchuk and family; his cousin Lawrence Bobinec; and his dear friend, Vito DePinto as well as the many friends he made throughout his lifetime.
The Memorial Service honouring Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at Fantin's Funeral Chapel in Blairmore, AB (13461-20th Ave) with Pastor Graham Bretherick officiating. Interment will occur in the family section of the Passburg Cemetery. Donations in memory of the late James Proc may be directed towards Canadian Cancer Society (Box 359 Bellevue, AB T0K 0C0) or Canadian Diabetes Association (204,2323-32 Ave. NE Calgary, AB T2E 6Z3).
