It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James McInulty of Blairmore, Alberta. He was called from this world on March 6, 2014 at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta at the age of 80 years.

James was born on June 2,1933 in Scotland to proud parents Walter & Janet McInulty. One of three children, he learned early in life to consider others before himself. His earnest sense of honour, sacrifice and stout courage led him to answer the call to serve this country and protect our freedom. He enlisted in the Merchant Marines and traveled across the many seas experiencing many adventures.

James met a lovely young lady, Sylvia Graham-Smith, and they were married on March 25, 1961 in the County of Durham and celebrated almost 53 years of love and devotion. They moved to Canada in 1970 and settled in the Crownsnest Pass in 2000.

James had a successful career with Commercial Union Insurance where he provided for his family as an engineer inspecting boilers in Ontario, parts of British Columbia and Southern Alberta; his meticulous and analytical nature helped him to do his job very well. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and was a talented mechanic. A very kind-hearted person, you could always depend upon Jim when in need. He was devoted to his children, his wife, country, community and friends. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

James is survived by his wife Sylvia McInulty; his son Graham (Mary); his daughter Linda (Curtis); his two cherished grandchildren, Kristen & Gregory.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter & Janet McInulty; his brother Jack McInulty and his sister Catherine Anderson.

By request of the family, there will be no funeral service held.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of the late James McInulty may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Kidney Fdn of Canada or the Alzheimers’ Society of Alberta. Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
