Mrs. Helen Cecilia Thiessen (nee: Hazuka) of Lethbridge, Alberta, beloved wife of the late John Thiessen, passed away on October 8, 2014 at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 84 years.
Helen was born on November 12, 1929 in Coleman, Alberta to parents, Martin and Virginia Hazuka. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Warren) Fox of Coquitlam, BC; her grandchildren, Robert Fox of Coquitlam, BC and Peter Fox of Pitt Meadows, BC; her brothers-in-law, Abe (Tena) Thiessen of Coaldale, AB, Henry (Margon) Thiessen of Edmonton, AB and Arnold (Peggy) Thiessen of Edmonton, AB; her sister-in-law, Heidi (Robert) Dawson of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Thiessen; her father, Martin Hazuka; her mother, Virginia Hazuka (nee: Galicia); one brother; one sister; two sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
With respect for Helen’s final wishes, no funeral service will be held. A private graveside ceremony was held in the family section of the Coleman Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in memory of the late Helen Thiessen may be directed towards the Arthritis Society, 200, 1301-8 Street SW, Calgary, AB, T2R 1B7.
