It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Georgina Oliver, beloved wife of David Oliver of Blairmore, Alberta, who died on November 9, 2013 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre at the age of 69 years.
Georgina was born on August 4, 1944 in London, Ontario to parents Richard and Edith Frank. She grew to be a lovely and graceful young lady who captured the heart of a caring and earnest young man, David Oliver. They married on March 13, 1981 in Ontario and raised their family with unconditional love and devotion. They moved to the Crowsnest Pass where Georgina’s charismatic and generous nature gained her employment and local fame at the Blue Jay Bakery. Many people became loyal customers because of her outstanding service and beautiful smile. She later found work at the Rose Peddler and continued her dedication to the customer.
Although blessed with many talents and interests including quilting, embroidering, baking, reading and donating baby blankets that she made from the east coast to the west, Georgina was most fond of her family. She loved family gatherings and holidays, hosting incredible dinners with more food than could be eaten and taking photos of precious moments. She was a nurturing and wonderful lady who will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, David Arthur Oliver; her sons, Doug (Merlin Hallock) Wetherup of Grande Cache, AB and Scott (Jessie Mountney) Wetherup of Blairmore, AB; her grandchildren, Britany Wetherup of Blairmore, AB, Sebastian Wetherup, Amber Wetherup, Mystery Wetherup and Rene Roufosse all of Vernon, BC and David Wetherup of Grande Cache, AB; several siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family; as well as the many friends she made throughout her lifetime.
By request of the family, a Celebration of Life honouring Georgina’s life was held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the family home in Blairmore from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
