Mr. Gennaro Morotoli of Coleman, Alberta passed away with his loving children by his side on December 18, 2013 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta. He was 82 years old.

Gino, as he was known to friends and family, was born in Morcone, Italy on August 5, 1931 to Armando & Francesca Morotoli. He was the oldest of three children. He met and married the love of his life, Maria Olivieri, in 1951 and celebrated fifty-seven years of their lives together. They were blessed with three children: Armando, Carmela and Franco.

In 1969, Gino, Maria, Armando and Carmela immigrated to Canada. Franco was born shortly after. They moved to the Crowsnest Pass and made Coleman their home.

Gino’s greatest loves were his family and friends. His other passion was watching sports – primarily hockey. The Calgary Flames were his number one team! He loved the outdoors - hunting and camping were his favourite pastimes. After Gino retired, he and Maria would take many trips to Italy to visit his many family members and friends. Remembered by his children as a hard-working man; he did not like to be idle and always had a project on the go. They will also remember his good nature and his ability to put a smile on their faces.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Armando (Allison), Franco, and Carmela (Doug); his precious grandchildren, Tiana, Chase, Myah, Seth, Ryan and her two children, Kimberly & Taylor; his two sisters in Italy, Giuseppina and Maria; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gennaro was predeceased by his father, mother and his wife, Maria, in 2008.

A celebration of a life well lived was held at the Elk’s Hall in Blairmore on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 12:00 pm with Fr. Ben Marino presiding.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Lung Association.

Ciao Gino, Ciao Papa, Ciao Nonno.

Con Tanto Amore.
