It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Franklin Bert Bone on August 13, 2014 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta. He was a hard working and loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend who died after living 79 years of a full life.

Bert was born on September 27, 1934 in Magrath, Alberta to proud parents, Archie and Velma Bone. At an early age, he demonstrated his talent with anything mechanical and the perseverance to get the job the done. Bert had a passion for automobiles; he found employment driving large trucks and operating heavy equipment in the logging and transport industries. He was blessed with children whom he loved and moved his family around calling several places home. He was always an amazing provider and a hard worker. A dashing and gentle man, Bert won the affections of a charming and lovely lady, Annette Mahieux, and they pledged their love on August 2, 1986. Bert loved the great outdoors; his passions in life were exploring the various majestic mountains of the Pass, spending many hours camping, horseback riding and quading. He had a great sense of humour and knew how to have fun. Bert had a sweet spot in his heart for the little children and animals. He was a handy man and a regular “Mr. Fix-It”.

Bert was a long time member the Royal Canadian Legion and the army reserve and was a loyal friend to many people in our community. He was a man of quiet faith and love of the Lord and we take comfort that his trials on earth are done and his heavenly reward is at hand.

He is survived by his wife, Annette Mahieux Bone of Blairmore; his children, Clyde Bone of Lloydminister, Sherry Chilton of Red Deer, Dale Bone of Campbell River, Terry Bone of Lloydminister and Angie (Dan) Bone of Rossland, BC; his eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews, extended family and friends especially Terry Graf, Ken & Lynne Edmunds, Steve Hoschajew and Helen Taggart.

He was predeceased by his son Randy Bone and daughter Melody Bone.

No funeral service will be held by request of the family.
