It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of Eunice Mae Littlewood at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre on September 11, 2015 at the age of 80 years.
Eunice was born in Edmonton, AB on August 26, 1935 to proud parents, Iolia and Fredrick Wilkerson. She grew into a beautiful, charming young woman who stole the heart of a dashing young man, Ben Littlewood. The happy couple married on October 30, 1953 and went on to have two wonderful children, Doug and Debbie.
In her free time, Eunice (affectionately known as “Aunty Newey”), enjoyed doing needlepoint, knitting, curling and watching baseball, but she was at her happiest when spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She created a loving, welcoming home that was a sanctuary for all who entered. Her kindness and grace will be greatly missed and forever remembered by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her husband, Ben Littlewood of Blairmore, AB; her children, Doug (Jean) Littlewood of Bonnyville, AB and Debbie (Darrell Whitney) Watt of Calgary, AB; her grandchildren, Chad, Jenna, Amber and Kristen; her great grandchildren, Sawyer, Dublin, Lillian, Poppy and Justice; her sisters, Gladys (Jerry) McKerral and Marg (Bill) Highet; her brothers, Ivan (Ruby) Wilkerson and Ross Wilkerson; her special friends, Rose and Gino Quarin, Marnie and Remo Quarin and Anita and Fiore Berlin; as well as her extended family and countless friends she made throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her parents, Iolia and Fredrick Wilkerson.
The Memorial Service will be held at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church (13126 – 21 Ave., Blairmore, AB) on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 1:00pm with Rev. Janni Belgum officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eunice will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation “Palliative Care Program” (P. O. Box 510, Bag 1, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0) or the Cancer Research Society (200 Isabella St., Suite 305, P. O. Box 4613, Stn. E, Ottawa, ON K1S 1P7).
