It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Mary Sudworth of the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta who peacefully left this world on January 12, 2014 at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre in Blairmore after 91 years of life.
Elaine was born on May 3, 1922 to Joseph & Edith Andrews in The Pas, Manitoba. From an early age, she recognized the caring of family and the satisfaction in the simple pleasures in this life. Elaine met John (Jack) Sudworth in Coleman and they were married in 1943.
Elaine lived a full life and throughout it all she found great enjoyment with the little things most take for granted. After retiring from Phillips Cables, her comfortable home, the occasional visit to the hair salon, along with an afternoon of soap operas and an evening watching the Edmonton Oilers made Elaine’s day joyous. She loved to play bingo and listen to the divine melodies of Daniel O’Donnell. She made endless of amounts of perogies and butter tarts but Elaine’s greatest passion in life was for her family. She was devoted to their welfare and supportive of their every endaevour. Elaine’s witty remarks and patient nature will always be remembered and cherished.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Robert) Vanoni of Blairmore, and Carol (Frank) Capron of Coleman; her precious grandchildren, Leanne (Scott) Morency of Blairmore and Laurie (Jim) Kyfiuk of Okotoks; Mark (Allison) Capron of Bellevue; her great grandchildren, Meagan & Kaitlyn Morency, Kendall & Mackenzie Kyfiuk; Liam & Maxwell Capron; her sister-in-law, Olga Sudworth of Blairmore; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Sudworth; her grandson Murray Capron; her parents, Joseph & Edith Andrews; and her siblings, Gary Andrews, Clarence Andrews, Doug Andrews, Neil Andrews, Jimmy Andrews, June Penner and Irene Frederickson.
