Forever in our hearts
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Nelson Wilkie of Blairmore, Alberta who succumbed to cancer on August 25, 2013 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre in Blairmore, Alberta at the age of 68 years.
Edward was born on September 3, 1944 in Pincher Creek, Alberta to loving parents Emil & Mable Wilkie. He was a modest and discreet individual with a great capacity for compassion and concern for others. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed curling, the outdoors and watching golf and NFL games. He married and was blessed with two children and later with three grandchildren who filled his heart with joy. He adored his family and loved to spend time with them, sharing in laughter and truly caring and listening to what others had to say. A devoted son, an adoring father and proud grandfather, brother and friend – he will be deeply mourned and fondly remembered.
He is survived by his precious children, Trevor (Sylvia) Wilkie of Edmonton and Pamela (Jeffrey) Beranek of Sparwood; his grandchildren, Ashley, Braelyn & Drycen; his loving mother, Mable Wilkie of Blairmore; his sisters, Patricia (Boyd) Morris of Kamloops, Shirley (Dave) Mitchell of Hughenden & Marilyn McNeil of Kelowna; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Emil Wilkie.
By request of the family, no funeral services will be held. A family graveside ceremony occurred in the Passburg Union Cemetery.
