It is with great sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of Dustin Glenn Jones of Blairmore, Alberta who succumbed to his illness at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on November 14, 2017 at the young age of 36 years.
Dustin was born on March 21, 1981 in Calgary, Alberta to proud and grateful parents, Glenn and Debbie Jones. Raised with respect and compassion, Dustin learned to appreciate the love of family and the rewards of friendship. He would befriend the young and old, the able bodied and disabled, people of every creed and ethnicity – all were drawn to his kindness and sincere interest in others. He had a moral code that was seeded and nurtured by his faith in our Lord and the upstanding values of his parents. He adored his pets, jumped at an opportunity to help someone in need and valued every day as a precious gift. He greatly enjoyed watching mixed martial arts and wrestling bouts on the TV, playing pool and poker for fun at the local Legion, camping, quading and every vacation and adventure with his family and spending precious moments with his many friends. His courage and positive attitude through his numerous heart surgeries and health issues will continue to inspire us to be better and to fight the good fight. He will be dearly missed but his memory will live long and strong in our hearts.
He is survived by his beloved parents, Debbie (Donald) Christie of Blairmore; his many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family; and his canine companion, Lola.
He was predeceased by his father, Glenn Jones and his faithful dog, Patches.
The Memorial Service honouring and celebrating Dustin’s life will be held at Fantin's Funeral Chapel, on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
