It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom, Doris. She passed away peacefully on December 23, 2014 in Blairmore, AB with her loving daughter by her side. She was 94 years old.
Beloved wife of the late A.E. Gaynor Swift, Doris was born in Toronto, ON on the Ides of March, 1920. Mom was amazed that she lived into her 90s - the longest lifespan of her family. Mom had many, many lively interests, a busy and full life and was a talented artist. She was very social and loved to laugh and have fun.
Mom had countless friends and pets that loved her and she genuinely loved people. She travelled and moved many times throughout her life and she appreciated the rugged, natural beauty of the Crowsnest Pass where she made her final home.
She was deeply loved.
She is survived by her children, Paul (Holly) Swift, Phillip Swift and Cynthia (Keith) Ward; her favourite grandchildren, Jessica, Miranda and Ethan; and her favourite great grandsons, Ty and Eli.
She was predeceased by her husband, A.E. Swift; her parents, Archie and Annie Thompson; and her dear sister, Isobel Pharoah.
A private family service will be held at the Grace Anglican United Church in Blairmore with Rev. Nicky Keyworth officiating.
