In loving memory
DORIS MABEL ENZSOL
(1921-2013)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear lady, Doris Mabel Enzsol of the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta who was called to be with the Lord on December 12, 2013 at the age of 92 years.
Doris was born on January 25, 1921 in Caerav, Glamorgan County, Wales to proud parents, Daniel and Mabel Griffiths. As an infant, she immigrated with her family to Canada in 1923 and in that same year settled in Coleman, Alberta. She was raised with a strong appreciation for family and this community.
Doris blossomed into a beautiful and graceful young lady who fell in love with a kind and hard working young man, Rudolph Enzsol. They were married in December of 1942 and were further blessed with three children. The family moved to Blairmore in 1944 where they opened their own shoe repair shop. Doris continued to work hard raising her family and working at Turtle Mountain Playgrounds and later at Catonio’s grocery store. In 1953, they purchased land in Frank, Alberta where she nurtured her family, cared for the livestock and frequented the Blairmore Legion every Saturday night to dance the night away. Her laughter and zest for life made her many friends. She was a proud Life-Time Member of the Royal Purple, the Salvation Army, St. Luke’s Anglican Church and a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She dedicated countless hours to local community events. Her passions included gardening, traveling, sewing, crafts and most of all, spending time with her family. We can find comfort in knowing Doris and Rudy are together once again dancing in paradise.
She is survived by her loving children, Gary (Shirley) Enzsol of Frank, AB and Pat (Jim) Walker of Calgary, AB; her beloved son-in-law, Tom Clark of Hillcrest, AB; her precious grandchildren, Eileen (Norman) Farn, Trent (Linda) Enzsol, Terry (Don) Enzsol, Shelley (Rob) Wind and Candace (Chris) Woychuk; her great grandchildren, Mike (Rachel), Ashley (Andrew), Alex, Caylee, Vanessa, Dylan, Ryan, Kristen (Chris), Geoffrey, Maddison and Brett; her great great grandchildren, Tyler, Tessa and Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Rudy Enzsol; her cherished daughter, Sharon May Clark; her parents, Daniel and Mabel Griffiths; and her sisters, Annie C. Weir and Mildred Rawlins.
The Memorial Service honouring her life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 am at Fantin's Funeral Chapel in Blairmore. Cremation occurred at Fantin's Funeral Chapel’s private crematorium. Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
