Darcy Thomas Hamilton
(1956-2013)
It is with the profound sadness that we announce the passing of Darcy Thomas Hamilton, of Lethbridge, Alberta. Darcy was called to be with the Lord on November 19, 2013 at the Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge at the age 57 years.
Darcy was born on August 30, 1956 in New Westminster, B.C. and was raised with a great appreciation for family, community and faith. He was a handsome and dashing young man who made a tremendous impression on a lovely young lady, Debbie Woollacott, and won her affection. They pledged their love in holy matrimony on April 9, 1976 and were further blessed with two children of their own.
Darcy enjoyed watching many types of sports, especially wrestling, and he was a Philadelphia Flyers fanatic. He was very determined and never backed down from what he believed in. His dedication to this community and the church was exemplary; Darcy held several positions with the Knights of Columbus and he was an active volunteer for numerous organizations such as the Crowsnest Pool League and the Bellevue Royal Canadian Legion. He was generous of heart, kind to others and an inspiration to his family. May he find salvation in the peace of Christ and may his memory continue to bless us with friendship and love.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include his wife Debbie Hamilton of Lethbridge; his daughter Crystal Hamilton of Blairmore; his son Ken (Shannon) Hamilton of Hillcrest; and his loving grandchildren Kenzi, Katie, Tiana and Zach; his brothers Dale, Rod, Ian and Duane; his sisters Sharon, Deanne, Gail, Rhonda and Shelly; his numerous nieces and nephews; his extended family as well as the many friends that he made throughout his lifetime.
He was predeceased by his mother Muriel; his brothers Glenn, Wayne and Gary; and his sister Carol.
The Prayer Service honouring Darcy’s life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2013 at 6:00 pm at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Blairmore, Alberta with Rev. Renso Castellarin officiating.
The Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Blairmore with Fr. Ben Marino and the Very Rev. Jack Pereira VG as Celebrant. Donations in memory of the late Darcy Hamilton will be gratefully accepted by the Heart & Stroke Foundation (Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4K7).
