In lieu of a formal obituary, I have chosen to mention a few of the many sayings, which have consumed my thoughts, especially most recently.
“To every thing there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die.” Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2
“This is the happiest of conversations where there is no competition, no vanity, but a calm, quiet interchange of sentiments.” Samuel Johnson
“It is strange that man should see sublime inspiration in the ruins of an old church and none in the ruins of man.” G.K. Chesterton
“To belittle, you have to be little.” Khalil Gibran
“You must always be willing to truly consider evidence that contradicts your beliefs and admit the possibility that you may be wrong. Intelligence isn’t knowing every thing, it is the ability to challenge everything you know.” David Rich
“Elijah was suicidal. Job wished he was never born. David was depressed. Moses had anxiety. Joseph was abandoned. Hannah was barren. Paul was alone in prison. But God set them free. He used their mess and made it their message. Turn your eyes away from the darkness and fix your eyes on JESUS.” peacewithgod.net
I have suffered with low self-esteem all my life; however, I have experienced love from many of you through the years. This incredible love has kept me going. As I write this, I am reminded also of those few people that have kept my cancer confidential. I am safe now in the loving arms of Jesus having entered eternal life.
