It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barrie Charles Eide of Blairmore, Alberta who passed away on November 1, 2017 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre at the age of 69 years.
Barrie was born on June 8, 1948 in Sexsmith, AB to proud parents, Olga and Arnold Eide. He was raised from humble beginnings and learned to appreciate the rewards from a hard day’s work. Barrie treasured time spent with his son, Darren, fishing and hunting and he liked to busy himself with work and tinker on any fix-it project. He was conscious and sympathetic to the world around him and was a passionate advocate for water conservation and responsible practices. He was selfless and kind, compassionate and caring. He was not perfect in his own eyes but to us, he will always be greatly admired, dearly missed and fondly remembered. His love of our Lord and unwavering faith made him an inspiration to us all and we take comfort in knowing he is at peace in paradise.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marina Hearn of Blairmore, AB; his devoted son, Darren (Lee) Eide of Nakusp, BC; his cherished grandchildren, Natasha (Josh), Crystal (Dave), Christopher and Terren; his treasured great grandchildren, Samuel, Saphira, Donna-Lee and Abel; his extended family; and the many friends that he made throughout his lifetime.
The Memorial Service celebrating his life was held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Crowsnest Community Christian Centre (8534-24 Ave, Coleman) with family friend, Pastor Al Robinson, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Alberta Cancer Foundation (710, 10123-99 Street NW Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1).
