In loving memory

ANNIE SKRZYZALA

(1929-2014)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Skrzyzala, of Coleman, AB. Annie was called to be with the Lord on March 22, 2014 at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre. She was 84 years of age.

Annie was born on October 21, 1929 in Coleman, AB to proud parents, John and Annie Ondrik. Along with her four siblings, Annie was raised with a great appreciation for faith, family and friends. She grew into a lovely young lady who made a tremendous impression on a handsome young gentleman, Ludvik Skrzyzala. He won her heart and they pledged their love in holy matrimony on June 4, 1949. They were further blessed with five wonderful children.

Annie had many talents including crocheting, cooking, baking and tending to her beautiful garden. She enjoyed countless hours working at the Polish Hall flea market in Coleman and with the seniors of the community. Annie was also an Honourary Member of the Alberta Beta Tau organization and a proud member of the Polish Society. Annie centered her affection upon her family and made her home one of happiness and hospitality by ensuring no one left her kitchen hungry – especially when enjoying her cabbage rolls. Having a strong community spirit, her charitable nature and loving smile made our world a better place and we will forever keep her memory alive in our hearts.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life include her beloved children, Linda (Ken) Petrone of Bellevue, AB, Ken (Anne Lapointe) Skrzyzala-Easton of Coleman, AB, Richard (Kathryn Carlson) Skrzyzala of Black Creek, BC, Barbara (Luc) Clemens of Calgary, AB and Patricia (Paul) Harding of Campbell River, BC; her precious grandchildren who more affectionately knew her as “Bubcha”, Chad (Corinne) Petrone, Jamie (Jody) Petrone, Jason (Janis Nicholson) Easton, Kristi (Pete Willot) Easton, Mark Skrzyzala, Erin Harding and Alex Harding; her great grandchildren, Ricky Petrone, Kiera Petrone and Logan Easton; her brother-in-law, Tonek (Olinka) Skrzyzala of the Czech Republic; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and the many friends that she made throughout her lifetime.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ludvik Skrzyzala; her parents, John and Annie Ondrik; her brothers, Joe Ondrik and John Ondrik; and her sisters, Amelia Budzen and Mary Rejman.

The Memorial Mass will be held this summer on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church.
