It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Agnes Poch on May 22, 2017 at the Crowsnest Continuing Care Centre, Blairmore, AB. She graced this world with 79 years of life.
Throughout her life, Agnes was a very social person. Whether it be discussing good food, her mother’s family recipes, or coming out of her room at the Continuing Care Centre to enjoy parties and entertainment, she never missed an opportunity to interact with those around her. Agnes cared very much for the history of the Crowsnest Pass as evident by her lifetime membership with the Crowsnest Historical Society, as well as by her tenure as their treasurer from 1974 to 1984. In her free time, Agnes enjoyed painting, doing crossword puzzles, needlework and crocheting. Her interest in the latter continued even after she could no longer create projects herself. Agnes was well known for having a green thumb. She not only loved taking care of her own plants, but starting them for others, too. Her nurturing disposition was also demonstrated by the gentle, patient way in which she cared for her parents. Agnes’s warm, benevolent spirit will be greatly missed.
