What a special friend she and her family were to me when I lived in Canada. I called Margie a few times over the years, until she passed. I loved the whole family and still think of everyone. I hope the family is well and I know how much yall miss Jo. The tears are running down my face as I type this and I still can picture her as a young girl. Love, Sharon

Dearest Van Loon family,
I would like to send my deepest condolences to your family. Doris was a friend of ours, and to both of us. My husband and her would talk for ages about golfing, and me and her loved the same kinds of things. Just recently we sat at a BBQ at her next door neighbors(Rose and Sieg Gail), who we used to live next to on the other side, and we talked about how much we loved the Hummingbirds(She always had her feeders out for them), and were discussing getting together this winter and do beading together, as it was something we both enjoyed. She loved to make things for people with beads. I asked her whether she had ever sold anything and she said, "No, I just make things for people to make them happy. " We worked together at the last election. I just really enjoyed being with her. She was very quiet, but when you started to talk to her about things she enjoyed she really opened up. She had a quiet soul, a very special lady. We will miss her.
