Welcome to the memorial page for

Vincent Erdos

July 29, 1933 ~ April 6, 2016 (age 82) 82 Years Old

On April 6, 2016, Mr. Vincent Erdos of Hillcrest Mines, Alberta, was called to be with the Lord after a long and arduous battle with illness.  Vince passed away while receiving care at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre at the age of 82 years - selfless character and hard working hands are now at rest.

Vince was born on July 29, 1933 in Raymond, Alberta to parents, Vincent Sr. and Mary Erdos.  He was raised with respect for community, family and faith.  Vince married Rosemarie Kaupp on April 2, 1959 and was blessed with a family to nurture and love.  He provided for them by serving with the Lethbridge City Police Force.  A role model for self-sacrifice and dedication, Vince was a member of the Bellevue Legion, a Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks, Scouts Canada, the Bellecrest Community Assoc, the Holy Trinity Catholic Choir, a founding member of the Quad Squad, the Hillcrest Fish & Game Assoc, a board member of the Miners Club and a coach for the Special Olympics to name but a few.

Vince had many passions and hobbies including time spent outdoors, riding his quad, “recycling metals”, making homemade wine for friends and family and helping anyone and everyone because he didn’t have it in his heart to say no.  He was often heard saying, “It won’t get done unless I do it myself.”   We will all miss his generous nature and devotion to others but he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Brian (Debbie) of Coaldale, Wayne of Lethbridge, Donald of Ft. Saskatchewan and Patricia Livingstone of Kelowna; his grandchildren, Brandon (Melissa), Tara, Christina, Corey, Brittany, Bradley (Amanda), Scott and Matthew; his great grandchildren, DJ and Peyton; his siblings, Roy Erdos of Claresholm, and Violet Hussion of Berrie, ON; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosemarie Erdos; his parents, Vincent Sr. and Mary Erdos; his brother, Oliver; and his sister, Mary Benci of Brooks.

The Memorial Mass honouring Vincent’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 11 am in the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Blairmore with Fr. Ben Marino as Celebrant.
