It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wesley “Wes” Rudy Yeliga, who passed away on May 7, 2025, at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, just a few days shy of his 68th birthday.
Wes was born on May 11, 1957, in Coleman, Alberta, to Rudy and Kathryn “Reenie” Yeliga. From a young age, he demonstrated a deep passion for all things mechanical, a passion that would become a lifelong career. As a dedicated automotive mechanic, Wes worked for many years at Precision Hyundai, where his skill and reliability made him a valued colleague and friend.
Outside of work, Wes enjoyed a number of hobbies that reflected his character and interests. A devoted fan of car shows and NASCAR, he loved the thrill of the track and the craftsmanship of classic vehicles. Wes also found joy in the quiet satisfaction of woodworking and was known for his steady hands and creative touch. He enjoyed bowling and curling, often sharing laughter and camaraderie with teammates and friends.
Wes will be remembered for his work ethic, and his quiet but unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and a life well lived. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life is his sister, Dawnelle Yeliga; his twin-sister, Weslyn Yeliga; his brother, Kevin Yeliga; his niece, Kathryn Roome; his great-niece, Ashlynn Jade Stevens; his extended family and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel (13461 – 20 Ave., Blairmore, AB) with Pastor Jep Banda presiding. Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
