Wayne McDonald

   With sadness, we announce the passing of Wayne McDonald on September 29 , 2023 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre, Blairmore, AB.  He was 67 years of age.

   Wayne was born on September 20, 1956  in Blairmore, AB to parents, Lexie and John McDonald.  He was raised to treasure the simple blessings in life and taught that hard-work reaps great rewards.  Wayne was a professional truck driver who loved being on the road.  He was also a gifted mechanic who enjoyed working on all types of cars.  Never one to complain and always ready to lend a helping hand, Wayne will be forever remembered with love and respect. 

   Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include his children, David McDonald of Blairmore, AB, Joshua McDonald of Lethbridge, AB, Crystal (James) Shier of Stony Plain, AB, and Nicole Butler of Pincher Creek, AB; his grandchildren, Jason Shier, Aaron Shier, Mary Butler, James Butler and  Jennicka Krug; his sister, Lynn (Bruce) Tyers of Airdrie, AB; his brother, Ray (Joyce) Smith of Bellevue, AB; as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family; and many friends.

   He was predeceased by his mother, Lexie Adelle McDonald (Née: Bone); his father, John Leo “Jack” McDonald; his brothers, Harold Smith, Clem Smith, and William Frank McDonald.

   A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel (13461 - 20 Ave., Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0) on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation “Mental Wellness” (PO Box 455 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0), or the Alberta Cancer Society (1331 - 29 Street NW Calgary, AB T2N 4N2).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
