Siegfried Detlev Sajitz

   It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Siegfried Detlev Sajitz on July 13, 2025.  He was 74 years of age.

   Siegfried was born on November 11, 1950, in Hamburg, Germany. In December of 1999, he and his beloved wife Barbara immigrated to Canada, where they made their home in Bellevue, Alberta. Together, they embraced a new life surrounded by the natural beauty of the Crowsnest Pass.

   A man of quiet strength and deep passions, Siegfried found joy in life’s simple and enduring treasures. He had a deep love for flowers and gardening, tending to his plants with care and reverence. His compassion for animals was evident to all who knew him, as was his appreciation for classical music and history.   Siegfried was a kind and thoughtful soul who valued time spent with family and friends. He will be remembered for his warm presence, gentle spirit, and the quiet dignity with which he lived.

   Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his stepchildren, Ralf (Antje) Lock and Andrea (Jens) Steinfeldt of Germany; his sister, Stephanie Ewert; his niece, Nicole Ewert; as well as many friends.

   He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; and his parents, Wilfriede and Stephan Sajitz.

   A Gathering of Family and Friends will begin at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 19, Bellevue (2401 – 213 Street, Bellevue, AB T0K 0C0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
