It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shelly Ann Osadan-Barlow of Hillcrest Mines, AB. After a short but courageous battle with gastric cancer, she passed away on January 23, 2026 at the young age of 53 with her sister by her side at the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre.
Shelly was born on February 12, 1972 in Blairmore, AB to proud parents John and Margaret Osadan. She was raised in Blairmore and grew into a beautiful and thoughtful young woman. She attended school in the Crowsnest Pass and graduated from Crowsnest Consolidated High School. Shelly was a hardworking, dedicated employee who held various retail jobs in town, then was a bank teller at CIBC for twenty years. Throughout her career, she touched the hearts of many people who became her friends.
Shelly won the heart of her soulmate, T. J . Barlow, and they were wed on June 7, 2003. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother to her fur-baby, Higgins. She was most fond of her nephews, Brandan and Hunter, and her niece, Summer. Shelly would spend countless hours chatting and mentoring all three of them. Shelly loved the great outdoors enjoying camping, boating and fishing at all the nearby lakes with her family. She was an avid reader and played computer games in her spare time. Shelly loved spending time with family and friends playing cards or telling stories. T.J. and Shelly would often take Higgins for long car rides in search of wildlife and beautiful sunsets. Shelly’s kind, sweet soul will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life is her loving husband, T.J. Barlow; her sister, Sheryl (Trevor) Brazzoni; her father-in-law, Terry Barlow; her sister-in-law, Lana (Jamie) MacDonald; her nephews, Brandan (Daisy) and Hunter; her niece, Summer; as well as many aunts, cousins. and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Osadan, and her mother-in-law, Charlene Barlow.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at the Hillcrest Miners Club (22733 - 7 Ave., Hillcrest Mines, AB T0K 1C0) from 3pm until 7pm.
