Ross Andrew Jensen

(1930-2021)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ross Andrew Jensen of the MD of Pincher Creek on April 28, 2021 at the age of 90 years. 

Ross was born on May 10, 1930 in Taber, Alberta to parents Nephi and Ivy Jensen. He was raised with an appreciation for hard work, love of the land and the caring of family.  On February 3, 1949 Ross married Marion Beatrice Myers. In 1958, they moved from Taber to their farm on Rock Creek Road near Lundbreck, Alberta where they raised their four children.  Ross‘s greatest love was his family and his animals. He enjoyed hunting, ranching, playing the organ and entertaining all with his rendition of “Popeye the sailor man!”  

Ross leaves behind his four children, Doug  (Joan), David, Danny (Donna), and Nancy (Carmen) Rinke; his nine grandchildren, Vicki  (Glen) Smyth, Cindy (Steve) Fix, Sherry Jensen (Valerie Brown), Tammy (Jason) Jack,  Bev Parker, James (Tammy) Jensen, Dayna (Kevin) Rogalsky, Colter Rinke and Jared Rinke; his sixteen great grandchildren, Nadine and Natalee Smyth, Ryan and Raegan Fix, Skylar Jack, Macey Jo Friel and Taylor, Brayden and Mia Jensen, Tatiana, Jack and Hudson Rinke, Ashlynn Rinke, and Gavin, Morgan and Alexa Rogalsky; his sisters, Shirley (Bill) Stoltz and Darlene Layton; his sister-in-law, Betty Gilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Ross was predeceased by his wife of fifty-four years, Marion Beatrice Jensen; his parents Nephi James and Ivy Annie Jensen; his brothers, Marion, Fred, Roy and Walter Jensen; and an infant sister, Thelma; his brother-in-law, Richard Layton; and his grandson, Andy Jensen and family: Shelley, Allan and Amanda. 

Ross is dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.  He was laid to rest beside his beloved Marion in the Fairview Cemetery in Pincher Creek.
