Lori Sapeta Obituary

Lori Lee Christine Sapeta was born on February 25, 1961 in Blairmore, AB. Lori is predeceased by her parents, Mary & Walter Sapeta. Lori also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Stephen Sapeta, Shelley Benesch, Marilyn Sapeta (David), Michael Sapeta (Tina); her aunt, Anne Stickney; and many nieces and nephews.

From the age of 15 years old, Lori lived with and became part of the Cenerini family. She is predeceased by Dennis and Mildred Cenerini, (who were like parents to her), and by Denise Gibson and Bonnie Cenerini, (who were like sisters to her). She continued lifelong relationships with sisters, Colleen & Gayle, along with their husbands and children.

Lori’s fondest memories as a child were on the family farm in the Crowsnest Pass, AB area. She enjoyed her time there with her brothers and sisters, uncles, an aunt, and her special grandmother.  She loved the family meals, the chores, and the comradery that came with those times.

Lori resided in the Crowsnest Pass, AB until her early thirties, then decided to make a fresh start by making a move. It was then that she headed west to be with Colleen & Gayle. This was a really big change for Lori, but she really embraced her new venture.

During these years, Lori lived in the Fraser Valley, BC where she really flourished in a career in Horticulture. Lori had a strong work ethic and worked her way up to become part of the management team at a large nursery business where she remained working for many years. Lori always had a special enjoyment and love for gardening and plants.

Lori moved to the Okanagan, BC in 2014 where she acquired a few more talents. She assisted in the family wine cellar in commercial winemaking, and she worked in the vineyards. The last five years that Lori worked, she created a lovely breakfast buffet at a beautiful inn in Naramata, BC. This was the creative side of Lori…who knew?!

Lori spent her last six years living in the small village of Naramata BC. Here, she formed many friendships, especially with her dearest friend, Sandra March. Lori was also well acquainted with many people in the village and was known as a down to earth, good person by all.  Naramata was truly home to Lori.

Throughout her life, Lori evolved to become a woman of character; she was loyal to people she was close to, and her favorite times were those spent with her family and friends.  Lori knew how to be in the moment, where she enjoyed laughing and sharing conversation.

Lori will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, the Cenerini family, her nieces and nephews, many friends, and all who knew her.

Lori’s battle with Cancer lasted two years, and she was resilient and strong right up until the end. She passed away peacefully on January 26, 2022. She will be remembered as a tough old gal (in a good way), but mostly as being very kind, loyal and loving.
