UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION BELOW.
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Kiara Suzanna Grace Fyten, affectionately known as “Baby Dolly,” on August 15, 2025, at the age of 15 years.
Born on June 24, 2010 to Susan and Jay Fyten, Kiara filled every room she entered with joy, warmth, and laughter. Despite facing tremendous challenges, she never let go of her radiant smile — a smile that uplifted everyone around her. Her spirit, unwavering even in pain, was a true inspiration.
Kiara found joy in the simple things that made life sweet: playing Roblox and Genshin Impact on her iPad, crafting imaginative creations, dressing up for Halloween, teasing her brother, spending time with her best friend Lexi, and playing with her dog and seven cats. Always coloring, always creating, and always talking about Jesus, Kiara’s faith and creativity shone through every day of her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was, and always will be, a shining light.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her parents, Susan and Jay Fyten; her brother, Jacob Fyten; her grandfathers, Dorne Fyten and Charles Martin; other relatives, Robert Fyten and his daughter Katie, Derek Fyten, Chad Fyten, Henry Verbaas, Conrad (Anne) Verbaas, Linda Verbaas, Lorraine (Rob) Shea, Ralph (Valerie Lawson) Fyten, Neville Toole; many cousins and other family members too numerous to name; and her best friend, Lexi Reeve.
She was predeceased by her grandmothers, Suzanna Martin and Grace Fyten; her great-grandparents, Dirkje and Johannes Verbaas, Margaret and George Fyten and Ella and Robert Toole; her great-uncle, Jake Verbaas; as well as other family members, Betsie and Arie van der Linden, Jim Verbaas, Heiltje Verbaas, Pat and Karl Wilburn, and Beatrice, Lawrence, Elgin, Bob and Maryland Toole.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by Ronald McDonald House Charities (www.rmhccanada.ca), or the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation (www.childrenshospital.ab.ca). Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
