Joyce (Nelson) Siray

   With deep sorrow, the family of Joyce Siray announces her passing on July 22, 2025 at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre, Blairmore, Alberta.  She was 91 years of age.

   Born on October 31, 1933, in Turin, Alberta, Joyce was the beloved daughter of Henry and Maude Nelson. She married the love of her life, Leslie Siray, on August 16, 1951, and together they built a life of love and faith. In 1961, they settled in the Crowsnest Pass, where Joyce became a cherished member of the community for over six decades.

   A woman of deep devotion, Joyce was a longtime parishioner of St. Cyril's Roman Catholic Parish in Bellevue, Alberta, and later of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish in Blairmore, Alberta. Her unwavering faith guided her throughout her life, and she was a proud and dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League for more than 50 years. She also found joy in the fellowship of the Bellevue Senior Citizens Club, where she formed many lasting friendships.

   Joyce will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She took great pleasure in life’s simple joys—nurturing her beautiful flower gardens, preparing delicious meals for loved ones, immersing herself in a good book, and, above all, treasuring time spent with family and friends, especially if travelling was involved.  Her legacy is one of love, faith, and grace. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

   Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life is her daughter, Audrey; her grandchildren, Linda, Keli (Eric), Bonnie (Randy), Clinton (Amanda), Braden and Tanner; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Bailey, Alex, Danika and Carter; her great-great-grandchildren, Brody, Skyler, Lucy and Kelvin; her daughter-in-law, Roni; as well as her extended family and many friends.

   She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie; her father, Henry; her mother Maude (Harvey); her sons, Kelvin and Darrel; her son-in-law, Gene; her brother, Henry; and her sister, Luella.

   The Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish (13126 – 21 Ave., Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0) with Fr. Thomas Vadassery and Fr. Joseph Nagothu as Concelebrants.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish Building Fund (PO Box 1410 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
