Joyce Georgina Nastasi

   With deep sadness, we announce that Joyce Georgina Nastasi passed away on March 22, 2026, at the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre in Blairmore, AB.  She was 87 years of age.

   Born on December 17, 1938, in Bellevue, AB, to Sebastian and Josephine Nastasi, Joyce spent her life rooted in the Crowsnest Pass, where she built a legacy of care, dedication, and community involvement.  Joyce worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over forty-five years, a career that reflected her compassion and commitment to helping others.  She was a devoted member of the Bellevue Legion Ladies Auxiliary and took great pride in contributing to her community.

   In her free time, Joyce found joy in baking and quilting, and she was an enthusiastic sports fan who liked watching the Toronto Blue Jays, the Edmonton Oilers, and the Montreal Canadiens.  Joyce cherished dancing to ABBA with her “Angel Bug”, Jessica, a memory that will be treasured.  She also enjoyed spending winters in Las Vegas and Arizona, embracing relaxation, and time with loved ones.  Joyce will be forever remembered for her kind spirit, warm smile, and devotion to her family and friends.

   Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hattingh and the staff at the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre for the care they gave Joyce, and special thanks to Sylvana Aschacher for all she did over the past year.

   Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life is her son, Darren (Glenda) Nastasi of Bellevue, AB; her daughter, Susan (Mike) Teslak of Fernie, BC; her grandchildren, Jessica Nastasi, Michael-Lee Teslak and Leanne Teslak; her cousin, Marlene (Garry) Anctil and family; as well as many friends.

   She was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and Sebastian Nastasi; her son, Donald Nastasi; and her brother and his wife, Buster and Dina Nastasi.

   With respect for Joyce’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation (PO Box 455 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
