It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean James on June 7, 2024 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre, Blairmore, AB. She was 83 years of age.
Jean was born on August 21, 1940 in Hafford, SK. She was raised to appreciate all of life’s blessings and to cherish family and friends - lessons she held dear throughout her entire life. Together with her husband, Tom, she raised three wonderful children in a home full of love.
As a long-time resident of the Crowsnest Pass, AB, Jean loved getting out in nature while camping. Over the years, she also enjoyed travelling, and any activity was made even more special if she was doing it with her beloved family. Jean was a bright light to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around you
And whispered, “Come to Me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life is her son, Kim (Dawn) James; her daughter, Jo-Anne (Glen) Johnston; her grandchildren Trevor James, Jillian (Dave) Haggith and Kayla (Marc Bellanger) Hoecherl; her great-grandson, Noah Haggith; as well as her extended family and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Walter James; her parents, Bill and Anne Bohun; her son, Tom James; her grandson, Tom James; her brother, Harry Bohun; her sister, Angeline Bohun; and her best friend, Ken Douglas.
With respect for Jean’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Alzheimer Society - Alberta & Northwest Territories (www.alzheimer.ca/ab/en). Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
