Jim was born in Okotoks, AB on February 22, 1940 and grew up on a farm near Okotoks. He married Donna Price in 1966 and the couple resided near Okotoks until moving to Cranbrook, BC in 1970 where they raised two beautiful children. Jim worked at ANG (Alberta Natural Gas) and Crestbrook Forest Industries as a millwright for many years before retiring. Jim passed away on May 9, 2025 in Coleman, AB at the age of 85.
Jim is survived by his daughter Tanya (Shawn) Metheral; his grandson Austin (Judy) Metheral and great-granddaughter Olive; his granddaughter Carly (Taylor) Smetaniuk, and by his granddaughter Kaylee Tooker. Jim is also survived by his in-laws Dar (Bruce) Wright, Della Keim, and Dixie (Bob) Robb; by his sister’s sons Jeff (Jeanie) and Brian; and numerous other nieces & nephews.
Jim was pre-deceased by his wife Donna; his son Troy; his parents Hazel & Layton Tooker; his sister Della; and several of his in-laws.
