James "Jim" Archibald Hobson

   James “Jim” Archibald Hobson, born May 12, 1948 in Blairmore, AB, departed this world on October 24, 2025 passing peacefully in his sleep. He was the middle son of Archibald “Archi” and Mary Jeanne “Chou Chou” Hobson.

   Jim married the love of his life, Carolyn, on September 18, 1978.  Carolyn and he spent many hours on the local golf course and traveling the world together. Jim was a long-time member of the Lions Club and a well-known, and well-loved, member of the community.  He will be missed.

   He is survived by his only daughter, Linda Scott who graciously gave him four wonderful grandchildren: David (Dawn) Scott, Chysom (Carolyn) Scott, Cheyenne Scott and Cassandra Banks. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Dima, Lucas and Lacey Scott; his brothers, Louis B. and Jack (Lori); many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces; and countless friends. He was predeceased by his wife Carolyn in 2018, and Aunt Lorriane in 2022.

   A Memorial Service will be held at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel in the spring of 2026.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the charity of your choice.  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
