Fernando Campos Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce that Fernando Geraldes Campos passed away on May 25, 2026, at the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre, Blairmore, AB.  He was 72 years of age.

Born on August 25, 1953, in Casegas, Portugal, Fernando was the beloved son of Christopher and Connie Campos.  He was known for his incredible work ethic and dedication throughout his life. Fernando worked for 42 years at Sun-Rype as a forklift driver and respected union representative, earning the admiration and friendship of many coworkers over the years.

Outside of work, Fernando embraced life fully and passionately.  He loved camping, landscaping, woodworking, sports cars, and spending time outdoors fly-fishing and golfing, as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren.  A devoted sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing and coaching softball and soccer, and he was a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the BC Lions.

Fernando will be remembered for his sharp humour, quick sarcasm, and the ability to make those around him laugh.  More than anything, family meant the world to him.  He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, and friend whose presence brought strength and laughter to everyone fortunate enough to know him.  Fernando will be remembered with love and respect.

Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life is his wife, Anna Axworthy-Campos of Montague, PEI; his children, Chantelle Campos, Tanya (Evan) Campos, Surrina Campos, Dustin (Cyra) Swain and Danielle (Bobby) Lolli; his grandchildren, Kyle Campos, Mathew (Despina) Strandquist, Paige (Cory) Strandquist, Samantha (Chad) Paton, Bailey (Robert) Hartwick, James Hartwick and Bradin Hartwick; his great grandchildren, Lyla, Declan and Rohnan; his brother, Jack (Carol) Campos of Kelowna, BC; his sister, Laura (Ivan) Simac of Kelowna, BC; as well as his nieces, nephew and great-nephew; his father-in-law, William; his stepsons, Kyler and Victor; his step grandchildren, Jade and Orion; and his friends.  He was predeceased by his father, Christopher Campos and his mother, Connie Campos (née: Lopes).

A private service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation (PO Box 455 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0), or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.ca).  Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca).
