(Formerly: Coombs, Née: Smith)

Etta Mary Hale, 90 years of age, of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away on May 28th, 2022, after a long life full of love for family and friends. Etta was born in Milk River, Alberta on April 29th, 1932, to Hubert and Esther Smith. Her love for family was her gift to us all.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends as we remember her as the wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, and friend we all came to know and love. We wish you well on your journey home.

“…Oh precious peaceful valley

Hold those I love so dear,

Even if it’s just in memory,

That you remain so clear.

For there, I lived a lifetime

Of childhood mem’ries dear,

There I learned the values

Of things, my contem’ries fear.

Fear not, to stand up, all alone,

Nor follow the trendy way.

To always be true unto myself,

As I go from day to day.

Where e’er I am, both near and far,

Your magic will ever rally,

You’re the land of my dreams,

My mem’ries home,

My Peaceful Valley.”

From the poem My Peaceful Valley by Lyla V. Smith (Sproed) – Sister-in-Law
